Dr. Deborah Canter
Dr. Deborah Canter, RD, LD
is a Professor and Head of the Dept. of Hospitality Management and Dietetics at
Kansas State University
where she has been on the faculty since 1977.
She served on the ADA Board of Directors as Chair of the Council on
Education and two terms as Chair of the Commission on Dietetic
Registration. She also served two terms
as delegate from Kansas
in the ADA House of Delegates and has been a national officer for the Dietetic
Educators of Practitioners DPG. She
served on the nominating committee for the Association and was chair of the
committee in 2003-2004. Her most recent
appointment in ADA
was as member of the Phase 2 Future Dietetics Practice and Education Task Force
which concluded its work in May, 2008.
Shelly Marie
Shelly Marie, MS, RD, LDN is the
executive director of College Lifestyles ™ (www.collegelifestyles.blogspot.com)
with the purpose of promoting nutrition, image, and etiquette programming for
savvy college co-eds and owns Shelly Marie Speaking Services (www.shellymariespeaking.com). In
addition to owning her own private nutrition and image practice, Shelly serves
as a dietetic internship preceptor for Louisiana Tech University; lectures at
Centenary College of Louisiana; is a media spokesperson for the Louisiana
Dietetic Association; serves as Director
of PR and Marketing for Nutrition Entrepreneurs DPG; as well as remains active in her sorority,
Alpha Sigma Tau, by serving on National Staff as the Alumnae Expansion
Coordinator.
Carol Jong
Carol Jong, Ph.D., RD is the President and Owner of numedix.com, a company devoted to providing professionally approved continuing education courses for dietetic, nursing and behavioral science professionals. She has authored and developed a number of these continuing education courses. She is also responsible for establishing a Didactic Program at California State University where she served as director and faculty advisor for many years. After developing an internship application guidance handbook, the success rate for internship placement increased to 100% in its first year. She has recently returned to CSU as an Instructor in Family & Consumer Sciences.
James Westerkamp
James Westerkamp has 25 years of information technology experience in the Banking and Healthcare industries. James managed large applications development projects across multiple banking and healthcare technology platforms. He has also supported the Online Banking systems for a large mid-western bank. James is a graduate of the University of Illinois with a degree in economics.
