Starbucks. Coffee. No two words sound sweeter to a dietetics student (well, “extra credit” might be a close second). If you’re looking for a new cup of caffeine to add into your rotation, check out this list of beloved Starbucks sips.
1. SHOTS SHOTS SHOTS
You add at least one extra espresso shot…or two if you have a MNT test or biochem lecture that day. Four shots of espresso aren’t for beginners, so order at your own risk!
2. NUTS FOR COCONUTS
Coconut milk is your go-to because who doesn’t love those medium chain fatty acids? Switch out the usual 2% for some coconut milk for a sweet treat in your cuppa cold brew. #mctsforthewin
3. SO REFRESHING
You order a Refresher because there’s fruit in it, but you really order it for the caffeine. Snag a Strawberry Acai Refresher for a midday boost.
4. FRAP…RD2BE STYLE
Reading the nutrition facts on a Frappuccino makes you cringe in horror. But you still get one every now and again…with nonfat milk and no whip to justify it. Order a tall Caffe Vanilla Frappuccino with nonfat milk to satisfy.
5. SO MATCHA STUDYING, SO LITTLE TIME
Looking to add some antioxidants to your daily drink? Order a matcha green tea latte with soy for a sweet and savory sip. Want something simple? Swap the soy for plain ol’ water.
6. MOCHA FOR THE WIN
There are days when you just need chocolate (good source of magnesium, so go for it!). Treat yourself and order a Caffe Mocha with no whip and one pump of mocha to curb your craving without going crazy with the sugar.
7. KEEP IT SPICY
Switch out your typical Cinnamon Dolce Latte for a plain latte, and then add your own cinnamon by the sugar/creamer area. Real cinnamon has chromium to help stabilize your blood sugar, instead of the cinnamon syrup in the dolce drink that does the opposite.
8. THE SUPERFOOD DRINK
If there was a Starbucks drink created just for dietetics students, it would probably be the Unsweetened Iced Green Tea. You nix the sugar and savor the naturally deliciousness of green tea. If you’re feeling adventurous, mix in some lemonade for a summery treat.
