Meet the AAI Match Makers

Kristen Carlucci

AAI Match Maker

Kristen is excited to join the All Access Internship team of coaches, bringing her extensive background in writing, editing, communications and marketing to help students land their perfect internship!

Kristen has worked at MSNBC as a Primetime News intern on the show Live with Dan Abrams, and as Nutrition Editorial intern at Fitness Magazine. Her writing has been published in Fitness magazine, Eating Well, Eat Better America, and Bob Greene's The Best Life website. She has also worked as ghost writer for a New York Times best-selling nutrition author. For the past two years, she has interned for Mitzi Dulan, America's Nutrition Expert®, assisting in all areas of media communications. Kristen also shares nutrition, food, and fitness advice on her blog www.simplysavor.com.

She has delivered presentations to nutrition/dietetics students on social media and how to market yourself as an ideal dietetic internship candidate.

She is a member of the American Dietetic Association, Nutrition Entrepreneurs and Dietitians in Business and Communications DPGs, and the Connecticut Dietetic Association. She is also an AFAA-certified Pilates, group fitness, and Zumba instructor.

Kristen holds a B.A. in Communications with honors from Tulane University, and is currently completing her dietetic internship in the Connecticut and New York City areas.

Katie Hamm, RD

AAI Match Maker

Katie is one of the original All Access Internships co-founders and, as a coach, remains dedicated to students in their internship search and application process.

Katie works full-time in nutrition communications where she integrates sound science into all aspects of her work for global food and agribusiness clients. Her past work experience involves developing broadcast and print media resources for a major supermarket chain and providing strategic social media counsel for other nutrition entrepreneurs. She also spent several years interning for the team nutritionist of the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals.

Throughout her undergraduate career, Katie served on the selections committee of many highly competitive organizations and advisory boards, and provides a unique perspective on how to work application letters and interviews.

Katie is a member of the American Dietetic Association, Nutrition Entrepreneurs, Food and Culinary Professionals and Hunger/Environmental Nutrition DPGs, and the Kansas City Dietetic Association.

Katie holds a B.S. in Dietetics and minors in business and Spanish from Kansas State University, where she graduated cum laude with honors. She completed her dietetic internship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN.

Selina Varma, RD

AAI Match Maker

Selina is a Registered Dietitian and completed her dietetic internship at Emory Healthcare in Atlanta, Georgia. Upon completion of her internship in May 2009, she gained more clinical experience as an R.D. at the Emory Children’s Clinic. She is currently pursuing a Master of Public Health at Emory University, and will be moving on to medical school in Fall 2011.

Selina’s public health experience includes an internship at the Grady Refugee Clinic where she helped develop a diabetes education curriculum and has collaborated on qualitative research; and an internship at CARE USA in the Division of Child Health & Nutrition where she helped draft a position paper on micronutrient supplementation, assisted with monitoring and evaluation of ongoing programs, and contributed to nutrition programming.

These experiences have called for a number of cover letters, personal statements, and face-to-face interviews. Selina is looking forward to working with applicants, and helping them put their best foot forward.
