Our Story

In April 2007 All Access Internships Co-Founder, Katie Hamm, began casually researching dietetic internship options online and realized the importance of finding the right fit early on in her undergraduate career.  She found the process tedious, to say the least, having to search through page after page of content on individual program sites to find what she was really looking for.  Soon enough, she turned to former or current interns for the answers.  The realization came that this was how to get the REAL scoop on the programs that most interested her.  Sure, general information like cost and location was important, but she wanted to uncover the personality behind each program.  At that moment, the idea for AAI was born. 

Jenny Westerkamp, a University of Illinois dietetics student, and Katie's friendship began when they connected through the ADA's Student Community of Interest. They began to unveil their shared interests and professional aspirations and discovered a common goal in desiring to better the dietetics student community. It was then that Katie realized she needed another like-minded student to create the best dietetic internship resource possible. She asked Jenny to partner with her, and together they were able to turn Katie's vision into a reality. All Access Internships was founded in May 2008.
  
From our combined experience, we have identified gaps in the internship search process that we aim to fill with the services offered by All Access Internships.  We feature a standardized service based on a peer-to-peer format.  The best part is, all of our content is student-driven.  We surveyed dietetics students across the country to find out what YOU really wanted.  So here it is, All Access Internships.  We hope it serves you well!
