Describe your rotations and other professional experiences (field trips, seminars, workshops or professional conferences).
Clinicals were a definite learning experience. I completed my first block at a small hospital catering to pregnant women, and my second block was done at a large teaching hospital in the heart of the city. I enjoyed the diverse experiences and experienced different styles of charting, management, patient care, education, and patients themselves.

Describe where you lived during the internship and how you found housing.

Why did you choose to apply to this program?
The stand out factor that drew me to the IUPUI program was their rotation schedule. As an intern, I rotated through 12 different cites (hospitals, clinics, long term care facilities, community practices, schools, etc) and had the benefit of working with a multitude of different personalities and management styles. Through my different preceptors and rotations, I had the chance to see how I learned best and what environment was most conducive to me providing the best patient care possible, as well as exposing me to a myriad of patients. I am now an RD working in home health in California and feel that I am well prepared for my job because I am comfortable and confident interacting with patients from a variety of backgrounds.
Why did you choose to apply to this program?
I didn't originally apply. I got it on the second match.
Why did you choose to apply to this program?
Concentration of food service management and clinical nutrition in addition to a wide range of rotations that would really let me get a taste of the different sectors in which a dietitian can be employed.
Why did you choose to apply to this program?
Location and the possibilities of working in a large area. The program provides a lot of unique opportunities.
Why did you choose to apply to this program?
The program seemed to provide opportunities to have mentoring and seemed as though the directors would provide guidance. Also the program was somewhat close to home. At the time, that was important to me.
Why did you choose to apply to this program?
I loved the Indianapolis area. Downtown is fantastic! Clean and fun! Much diversity! Great city layout, easy to commute. Not to mention all of the fun festivities that accompany the Indianapolis Colts, the Indy 500 and the Brickyard. I knew that not only does Indianapolis have a great healthcare system (Clarian Health Systems, the VA, and St. Vincent), that whatever down time I might have, could be enjoyed in this city. IU has the internship, a Pediatric Nutrition Fellowship (one of only 2 in the country), and Masters program. The internship was comprised of graduate courses that can be applied to the masters (same as w/ the fellowship).
Why did you choose to apply to this program?
I could live at home and save by in-state tuition.
Why did you choose to apply to this program?
IU was the last choice out of 7 on my list. I only put it on there because it was located in Indiana.
Why did you choose to apply to this program?
More than anything, the location. I wanted to be in a city large enough to get exposure to more critically ill patients.
Why did you choose to apply to this program?
It was closer to home.
Why did you choose to apply to this program?
It was well-rounded as we did rotations in most areas-pediatrics, renal, food service, clinical, diabetes, and general research. I had heard that the the program was tough, but it graduated good dietitians.
Why did you choose to apply to this program?
I could live at home and save by in-state tuition.
Why did you choose to apply to this program?
I could live at home and save by in-state tuition.
Why did you choose to apply to this program?
I chose this program mostly due to location. It was close to friends and family. I also chose it because it had a really good variety of activities, and wasn't heavy on foodservice or clinical since I wasn't sure what aspect I wanted to go into.
